For Immediate Release 05/07/22Threats against the Catholic Church this Mother’s Day

New York— 05/07/22 Due to the recently leaked draft Supreme Court decision that could overturn Roe v. Wade, law enforcement agencies around the country are warning that pro-choice abortion activists have called on Americans to storm Catholic churches this Mother’s Day. As a safety precaution, law enforcement has notified Catholic Archdioceses across the United States to be on guard for possible damage caused by the protests.

Here in New York State, the New York State Ancient Order of Hibernians fully respect and support the First Amendment right to peacefully protest on public property. However, we vehemently condemn all acts of vandalism and violence, and urge our members to immediately contact local law enforcement if they see something out of the ordinary this weekend at their local churches. Simply put, if you see something, say something!

We would also like to commend national, state and local law enforcement for providing extra security for our churches, clergy and parishioners this weekend.
