An Easter Message From New York State President John Manning
Dear Brothers,
Spring is officially here and I look forward to seeing you all at the NY State Board meeting on April 30th in East Durham. We have several fun, charitable activities planned for the weekend, including our annual golf outing, "Bags of Hope" food drive, charity cornhole and dart tournaments and live entertainment at the Shamrock House. It's sure to be a memorable event and most importantly, a time for us to bond with our Brother Hibernians. You can find full information on our Facebook page.
Spring is also a time of spiritual renewal and with all of the Catholic feasts we celebrate each year, Easter is the most important. Every Easter we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, but we should also reflect on the fact that Easter is important for Catholics because it is the central foundation for both our faith and the divinity of Jesus. That said, it's fitting that this Easter we rededicate ourselves to our Catholic Faith and to demonstrating Christian Charity in our communities.
Easter is also a special time of remembrance for both Irish and Irish-Americans when we honor the men and women of the 1916 Easter Rising. Their selfless courage and sacrifice set the course for the free and independent Irish Republic we have today. Please join me this Easter in saying a prayer of gratitude and peace for all of these Irish patriots.
As always, I thank you for all that you do to demonstrate our motto and wish you and your family a happy and healthy Easter. Please join me in praying for our departed Hibernian Brothers and Sisters, members of our military, first responders and others who can’t be home this Easter.
Yours In Our Motto,
John J. Manning
President, AOH NY State
