Bro. George B. Sheehan Sr. served as a member of the Massachusetts National Guard in the earl 1960’s. In 1964 he entered the Regular Army. In 1965 he was assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion serving under the US Navy HQ Support Activity in The Republic of Viet Nam. After a stateside assignment he served a post war tour in the Republic of Korea. During his service of over 23 years, he served numerous tours in Stateside assignments including Camp Drum, NY, two tours with the US Army Alaska and assignment in the West German Federal Republic.
Bro George B. Sheehan Sr. holds an AA and AS degree from the Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, with a minor in African American Studies and a master’s degree from SUNY Potsdam. He has taught in local schools and as an Adjunct Instructor with Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY.
After his active service in the US Army, retirement from Niagara Mohawk Power as a Chief Nuclear Security Officer and completion of his education, Bro. Sheehan went on to serve his community as a Town Justice for the last eight years where he is acting currently as a mentor to a newly elected Judge. He has been recently nominated to be the President of the Jefferson County Magistrates Association. He is currently serving as Chaplain of Post 673, American Legion, Black River, NY. Bro. Sheehan has served in the complete line of officers in the AOH Division including previously as Division President, received his advanced degree and remains an active member of his Division.
