We will never forget September 11,2001
On September 11, 2001 we lost 2,997 lives, 18 of those were Brother and Sister Hibernians. We honor their memory today and everyday.
We asked Patrick Dowdell from Division 4 who lost his Father Kevin on that fateful day, about the legacy his father left with him and bis brother. Dowdell told us, “ My father was a hard working family man that always put others first. He encouraged me to join the AOH with him when I turned 18, and was proud of his Irish heritage. I was 18 yrs old on 9-11 but he had a lasting impact on who I am as a man. Selfless service, honor, loyalty, courage - that is his legacy is and what me and my brother have always hoped to carry forward. As a father now myself, I hope to instill the same values and ethics in my children, and make sure they know their Grandpa and the many others we lost on 9-11 were heroes. For that, I’m very thankful.”
We will never forget our members who passed on.
